This Week flew by! In our continued search to locate all of the members of our ward we found ourselves in new parts of our area, and talking so many people that I have never met before. It was so awesome. I feel so comfortable in this area and it's true that I feel like we are now able to work more effectively.
Tuesday Night was really interesting. The elders called us at about 10 pm and told us that we couldn't go to sleep yet. They said that some of the other Hermanas were in the hospital and were going to have to sleep in our apartment that night because there wasn't a bus back to their area late at night. We stayed up and waited and waited and waited... It wasn't until 1 in the morning that they came. Safe to say that we were extremely tired the next morning when we had to wake up early to go to San Jose (Wednesday morning). We needed to go to the office for Hermana Tejeda's legal paperwork along, with the other new missionaries that arrived when she did. All of the new missionaries left to go to a legal office and all of us trainers stayed back at the mission office. We waited for about 4.5 hours for them and eventually decided to go to the mall for lunch. When it was finally time to head back to Guapiles, it was 5 pm and we got back in time for 1 lesson. Tuesday and Wednesday were both super long.
Thursday was super awesome! We had our normal Zone Conference with Zone Limon (a zone of all Elders because its too dangerous for hermanas), and President Hayes. The whole conference was really inspiring. I learned so much and I loved to receive new insights about the work and true conversion from President and the assistants.
Friday, while Hermana Tejeda and I were studying, Hermana and President Hayes sent us an email that said that they wanted to come visit us in our apartment to study and to interview us. At about 1:30 they came and visited with us. They want to visit everyone to have an idea of where we all live and to check in. President answered our questions that we had about Isaiah. Hermana Tejeda and I both are currently reading in the Isaiah chapters of the Book of Mormon. President loves Isiah and he taught us about how Isaiah prophesies of 3 things: 1. The scattering of the house of Israel. 2. The gathering of the house of Israel and the 2nd coming. 3. Jesus Christ. That helped us so much. When we don't understand a scripture...because the majority are so complicated...we can put it into one of those contexts. We talked more about doctrine which was super interesting. President is a BYUI Religion Professor so he is great to learn from. He interviewed Hermana Tejeda and I separately. President is so great. He really knows each of us really well and he knew exactly what to say to me to help me. He told me to keep having patience with myself and my area. He knows that I'm here for a reason and he told me in the end that me training...is pure revelation. I have so much faith and trust in President Hayes and he trusts the Lord. With the Lord, all is well. Haha.
Other than that, this week I got really sun burnt which wasn't fun. In San Jose it is soooo hot and the sun is sooo strong!
Then My companion helped an investigator with her math homework. Math and Spanish. Statistics and Spanish. Together, oh my...I'm sure God was laughing at me as I tried to understand haha:)
Well, that was my week. This week I have exactly 6 months in the mission!! How crazy is that?
Love you all and think of you everyday!! Take care:)

Best example of when a missionary enters the mission field... and then by the time they leave. This is 100 colones or kind of like a dime. |
